A multontrumentist, Professor Polanco studied music in Cuba in his native province of Holguin and Santiago de Cuba where he developed a large part of his professional life. He was a teacher at the "Esteban Salas" conservatory, a percussionist of the "Symphonic Orchestra of the Orient" and several groups of popular and traditional music with whom he has participated in at different festivals and events around the world, including France, Holland, Belgica, Mexico, Islas del Caribe and Spain.
He was also a percussionist of the orchestra "Cabaret Tropicana", a musical producer in the studios "Siboney EGREM", and a music composer for theatre, radio and television. He currently lives in the city of Miami where he is part of different music groups, teaching private courses of Latin percussion and Drums, and currently developing his own musical project "ANDY POLANCO" in which he plays in the Mallekat themes Standar of international Music and others of his own authorship.
